In March 1984 Bob made two major changes. The first was to make the commitment to photography as a full time career and the second was to become a member of the Professional Photographers Society of New York, as well as Suffolk Professional Photographers. At this point things really started to move for Bob. In 1985 Bob was elected to the board of Directors of Suffolk Professional Photographers and then to the position of Secretary. In the next three years, Bob managed to ascend through all the Chairs of his organization ending with President in 1988. As a past president, Bob became a member of the board of Governors and intended to keep active with Suffolk Professional Photographers and continue to lend a hand in the running of that organization. During the time that Bob was an active member of Suffolk Professional Photographers, Bob had an opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best photographers in the country. Between the years 1986 thru 1991, Bob Caruso received many awards which are testament to his continuing effort to produce the highest quality photographs possible. In 1986 Bob received the Second Place award for excellence in the Portrait category and the Third Place award in the Wedding category. That year he also received a Trophy for having the "Best of the Best'' Photograph in the Portrait category. In 1987 Bob received the First Place award of excellence in the Portrait category and the Third Place award in the Wedding category. In the same year Bob was also presented the "Photographer of the Year'' award as well as the New York State Award for outstanding service to his organization. In 1988 Bob again received the Second Place award of excellence in the Portrait category. In 1989, 1990 & 1991 Bob again received the New York State Award for outstanding service to his photography organization. Since starting in the business full time in 1984, Bob has directed his business more and more towards sports and school photography. In 1984 Bob photographed one soccer league and one nursery school. Just over 500 children. Currently Bob's company, Ace Photo, photographs about 10,000 children each year, ranging in ages from 2 to 18. In spite of the fact that the numbers seem large, Bobs still considers his studio to be a low volume - high quality business which is what assures you a great product. Bob still keeps his hand in every aspect of the work, from taking the pictures to the final packaging. PUT YOUR MONEY ON THE BEST, ACE PHOTO
